The homicide team has been called to Chilliwack to investigate a missing person case.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says it was deployed to the city on Wednesday to look into the disappearance of 41-year-old Jamie Curtis Bristol.
IHIT notes it was called in after evidence suggested Bristol “had been met with foul play.”
“We’re appealing to the public for any information that can help us locate Mr. Bristol,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “We’re going to continue to work closely with the Chilliwack RCMP and our integrated partners to find Mr. Bristol as soon as possible.”
Investigators say Bristol was “last believed to have been contacted” on Dec. 22.
The man is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and tattoos on his scalp, as well as a distinctive skull with flames tattooed on his neck.
IHIT explains in addition to investigating homicides and suspicious deaths, its mandate also involves looking into high-risk missing persons cases that may involve foul play.
The homicide team is asking anyone with information to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4488) or ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
