A serious, multi-vehicle collision on the Coquihalla Highway shut down the major arterial Monday evening through Tuesday morning, police say.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the crash near the Great Bear Snowshed, according to a post by Cpl. Dave Noon with the Forensic Collision Reconstructionist with the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.
At the time, the highway between Merritt and Hope was closed in both directions. Just before 7 p.m., northbound travel reopened, Noon says.
Southbound travel remained closed overnight, with the highway reopening just before 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.
