Maple Ridge crash on Dewdney Trunk Road sends 5 to hospital: EHS

A section of Dewdney Trunk was closed for several hours Wednesday after a serious crash in Maple Ridge sent five people to the hospital, one with serious injuries.

In a statement to CityNews, BC Emergency Health Services says six ambulances and a paramedic supervisor were dispatched to the area between 203 and 206 streets just after 12:30 p.m.

“Paramedics cared for five patients and transported them to hospital,” BCEHS paramedic public information officer Jasprit Khandal said.

The Ridge Meadows RCMP says four of the people were taken to the hospital for “precautionary measures,” while one person was seriously injured.

All eastbound lanes of Dewdney Trunk Road had been closed between 203 and 206 streets until around 7:30 p.m.
