VPD looks to identify woman who died of suspected overdose

Vancouver police are hoping someone will help them identify a woman who died from a suspected drug overdose last year.

The VPD says the woman’s body was found in south Vancouver, near the Knight Street Bridge, on Nov. 8. Despite reviewing missing persons files and working with other agencies, police say they have not been able to identify her.

The woman is described as being in her 20s. She was about 5’3″ tall, weighed 110 pounds, and had a small, horizontal scar on her sternum at the time of her death.

She had short hair that was dyed red with brown roots, and was wearing a gold necklace with a heart, as well as had her ears and belly button pierced.

Police have also released images of the woman’s “distinctive tattoos” with the hopes someone will recognize her.

The tattoos on her body include a heart on her left wrist, and butterflies and the words “love me for who I am” under her left collarbone.
