Vancouver opens more shelters as overnight temperatures drop

The City of Vancouver is encouraging unhoused individuals to utilize available shelter spaces due to anticipated drops in overnight temperatures in the coming days.

The city says additional shelter spaces will be open from Friday night through Monday in response to the declared “extreme weather alert.”

Alerts are typically issued when temperatures are expected to feel like or fall below 0°C during these nights.
