Richmond Mounties seek public’s help in pedestrian fatality case

The RCMP is asking the public for help in its investigation of a pedestrian fatality in Richmond.

Police responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle soon after 6 p.m. Feb. 1 in the area of Cambie Road and Bargen Drive.

The pedestrian, who was in his 80s, was taken to hospital and died two weeks later.

The driver of the vehicle — a light-coloured BMW sedan — remained at the scene and was cooperative. Police say alcohol or drugs were not involved.

The Richmond Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken over the case.
