Sun Peaks skier dies after accident at resort

A skier in B.C.’s Interior has died after an incident, Sun Peaks Resort says.

In a statement to CityNews, Sun Peaks says the resort’s Ski Patrol was called to the scene for an “on-mountain accident” on Thursday.

When they arrived, they found a man injured, who has since died from his injuries.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of life of our guest and our thoughts are with their family and friends,” Sun Peaks Resort Management said.

The resort, northeast of Kamloops, says it’s cooperating with the ongoing RCMP investigation and the case is now with the BC Coroners Service.
