Two people have been seriously injured after two separate crashes in Surrey overnight.
Officers were called to the first crash, which involved a Tesla and a Dodge Challenger, on 132nd Street between 78th and 82nd Avenues, just after 1:30 a.m.
The occupants of the Dodge fled the scene on foot, and the Tesla driver has been hospitalized with serious injuries.
Less than an hour later, Mounties responded to a three-vehicle collision at 152nd Street between 68th and 72nd Avenues that resulted in serious and possibly life-threatening injuries to one of the drivers.
The occupants of one of the other vehicles fled on foot, and a hydro pole was also seriously damaged in the crash.
RCMP say 152nd will be closed in both directions well into the morning between 68th and 72nd Avenue, and police ask drivers to plan alternate routes.
This area around 132nd Street is now open to traffic, but police are looking for witnesses in both files. Anyone with any information is being asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
