Arrest made, no charges laid in South Vancouver homicide: VPD

Editor’s note: a previous version of this story had said the arrest was made on Friday. The VPD has since issued a correction, saying the arrest was made Thursday.

Vancouver police made an arrest Thursday night in the case of a 49-year-old woman who was found dead in South Vancouver earlier this week.

Police found the woman’s body in the area of Rosemont Drive and East 57th Avenue, just north of the Fraserview Golf Course, around 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

“No charges have been recommended at this time and the investigation is ongoing,” VPD media relations officer Tania Visintin told CityNews.

The VPD previously described the incident as “targeted.”

Callers to CityNews on Wednesday had reported a large police presence through the morning and early afternoon.

With files from Cole Schisler, Hana Mae Nassar, and Charlie Carey.
