The Lower Mainland’s homicide team has been called in after a man was killed in Langley early Friday morning.
The Langley RCMP says just after midnight, Mounties were called to 202B Street between 70A and 68A avenues in the Willoughby neighbourhood after reports of gunfire.
Some next-door neighbours tell 1130 NewsRadio they heard gunshots around 12:40 a.m., and then saw a black SUV speed away.
“As officers were responding an additional report was received of two men suffering from gunshot wounds at the hospital. One of the men has succumbed to his injuries,” Corp. Craig van Herk said in a statement Friday.
Police say evidence is still being gathered. However, officers believe the shooting to be an “isolated incident.”
Police said Friday afternoon they have have no suspects and don’t know the connection between the shooting victims and the house.
Mounties say 202B Street will be closed while police investigate. The Integrated Homicide Team has been called in to investigate the fatal shooting.
Police are urging anyone with information about the killing to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
