Historic cover of EA Sports NHL 25 features Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes

A familiar face is on the cover of this season’s EA Sports NHL video game: the captain of the Vancouver Canucks, Quinn Hughes.

Wearing the black skate jersey, the 24-year-old is flanked by his brothers, Luke and Jack, who both play for the New Jersey Devils.

The trio marks the first time siblings have ever been featured together on the cover.

They skated earlier this summer to do a photoshoot for the unveiling.

“We feel incredibly honoured to be on the cover of NHL 25,” said Quinn.

“Being featured alongside my brothers is the sort of thing you dream about as a kid but could never imagine happening in real life,” added the Norris Trophy winner.

The latest edition of the video game will feature more than 250 new animations, a new foundational AI, and enhanced graphics. Fans can choose to play as any of their favourite teams, including the Utah Hockey Club, which is the newest addition to the NHL.

The game was developed by EA Vancouver and EA Sports and will be available on Oct. 4.

The Canucks begin their regular season on Oct. 9 at Rogers Arena when they host the Calgary Flames.
