The District of North Vancouver declared a state of local emergency for an area in Deep Cove Saturday night.

“Our geotechnical consultants have advised that this extent of debris could pose a life safety risk to adjacent properties,” the District said in a statement.
The DNV says that out of an abundance of caution, three properties are now under a mandatory evacuation order — 2514 Panorama Drive, and 5297 and 5313 Indian River Drive.
“Anyone in the affected area must leave immediately,” Emergency Info BC stated.
“The decision to declare a state of local emergency and a mandatory evacuation order is not taken lightly,” the DNV said.
“The residents of these properties are eligible to receive Emergency Support Services (ESS) to support the evacuation through the North Shore Emergency Management office (NSEM), should they request assistance with temporary relocation.”
The latest evacuation orders come less than a week after six properties in Deep Cove were ordered to evacuate due to unstable ground after the atmospheric river. That evacuation order was lifted on Friday.
