Police in Chilliwack say they re-arrested a man considered to be a “high-risk offender” last week.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, the Chilliwack RCMP raided a home on McNaught Road near Little Mountain Park, resulting in the arrest of a 22-year-old man.
Mounties claim the man was “well-known” and designated under the Repeat Violent Offending Intervention Initiative (REVOII) Program by the Chilliwack RCMP in 2023.
The man had been arrested before for driving contrary to the conditions of a probation order and investigators believed he was also involved in drug trafficking.
He is now facing the following charges:
- Carrying a concealed weapon;
- Careless storage of a firearm;
- Possession of a firearm;
- Obstructing a police officer;
- Failing to comply with a probation order;
- Failing to comply with a release order;
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking;
- And driving while prohibited.
Police say the young man was one of several people arrested at the McNaught Road residence. He is being held in custody while the court process continues.
