North Vancouver teen girl critical after being hit by SUV Sunday

A 16-year-old North Vancouver girl is in critical condition in hospital after being struck by an SUV on Sunday evening.

In a statement Monday, the North Vancouver RCMP says officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck at around 5:30 p.m. near Capilano and Paisley roads. just north of the Upper Levels Highway.

“It’s alleged that a white Jeep was travelling south on Capilano Road when a pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck,” Mounties said.

The driver of the Jeep remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators, Mounties say.



“The RCMP are conducting a thorough investigation, and are working with partner agencies including the Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service (ICARS) to determine what happened,” said Const. Mansoor Sahak. “Anyone affected by this incident can seek support through the North Vancouver RCMP’s victim services by calling 604-969-7540.”

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information about the crash to call police at 604-985-1311 and quote file 24-25577.
