5 people injured after hydroplaning crash on Lougheed HWY in Mission

Five people are in hospital and Lougheed Highway was temporarily closed Thursday after a serious crash near Mission.
Callers to 1130 NewsRadio first reported the crash around 11:30 a.m.

“A female was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is investigating the collision.”
The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) tells 1130 NewsRadio that seven ambulances attended the scene, and four other victims were also taken to hospital.
“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to five patients at the scene and transported five patients to hospital,” authorities said in a statement.
PHSA declined to provide details about the other victims.
Lougheed Highway was temporarily closed in both directions between Nelson and Oliver streets. The highway reopened to traffic around 6 p.m.
