There are few details so far, but police say they are not yet treating the death as suspicious.
“We’re treating this with very high importance, and we put all our resources out there,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.
“We have a general investigative services section and also members of our serious crime team that is actually working on this.”
The RCMP says it’s a dangerous time of year for people sleeping outside.
“Given the weather, it’s cold out there, unhoused individuals are resorting to open flames just to keep warm,” Sharoom said.
“Obviously, it does bring a lot of risks to it.”
Investigators are reportedly working to determine what happened.
Anyone who was in the area between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning with dashcam footage or information to share is asked to contact the Langley RCMP and quote file 2025-3085.
