Vancouver Police investigating fire along Granville Strip

Crews were kept busy early Monday morning in Downtown Vancouver as they responded to a fire on the Granville Strip.

The Vancouver Fire Rescue Services say they were called at around 3 a.m. to Granville Street between Nelson and Helmcken streets.

What began as a single-alarm fire, turned into a second-alarm blaze with heavy smoke billowing onto the streets and surrounding alleys. 

They got things under control around 6 a.m.

There are no reports of injuries. Firefighters say a couple of businesses may have been affected by the blaze.

The Vancouver Police Department says it is investigating the incident.
