WestJet flight aborts takeoff from YVR after ‘aircraft issue’

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) says a flight headed to Calgary rejected its takeoff on Monday afternoon.

According to YVR, the WestJet flight aborted the takeoff around 4 p.m. due to an “aircraft issue.”

“There were no reported injuries. However, YVR Fire and Rescue responded, out of an abundance of caution. All passengers were safely deplaned and transported back to the terminal,” Kate Macrae said on behalf of YVR.

The aircraft was removed from the runway and was taken to an available aircraft apron.

YVR says the north runway was returned to operations shortly after the incident and is available for service Tuesday.
