Abbotsford police seek identity of sex assault suspect

Police have released a composite sketch of a young man suspected of a sexual assault in an Abbotsford park Monday.

The Abbotsford Police Department says the incident happened sometime between 10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. at Downes Bowl Park in the city’s Clearbrook neighbourhood.

Police say the victim, only identified as “female,” was alone when an unknown man, believed to be between 15 and 20 years old, allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The victim described the alleged perpetrator as 5’5″, with a bowl cut, dark brown hair, and a short dark beard. Police say he was last seen wearing grey pants, a grey sweater, and white shoes.

In an update Thursday, the department added that the suspect has a portrait tattoo on his right forearm, and it released a composite sketch to help the public identify the man.
