Vancouver Fire Rescue crews are looking into what sparked a blaze at a vacant home in East Vancouver Saturday morning, saying they were called out after an explosion was reported.
Acting Assistant Fire Chief Chris Gill says they arrived at the home on East 22nd Avenue and Fraser Street around 5 a.m.
“There was a report of an explosion,” Gill told 1130 NewsRadio.
“Looks like it was maybe in the garage area.”
Crews were able to extinguish the flames.
Gill says no one lives at the home, and it was vacant at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
As of 8 a.m., fire investigators were still on scene.
