Burnaby RCMP believes one man was behind three separate attacks near Metrotown

The RCMP in Burnaby is investigating a series of attacks near Metrotown on Saturday. Mounties believe that one man is behind it.

The suspect is believed to be in his 20s or 30s.

“We have spoken to a bunch of witnesses and they have all given us all the same description,” said RCMP Corporal Michael Kalanj.

Police first responded to a report of an assault near Willingdon Avenue and Kingsborough Street around 6 p.m.

Allegedly, the suspect was pushing an employee at the Bob Prittie library and punching a patron.

“When we were responding to that, we got another call. A block block away at McKay and Kingsborough, there was another assault,” said Kalanj.

He says one of the four victims had minor injuries.
