Langley RCMP lays charges against hit-and-run suspect

Mounties in Langley say they have charged a man after a hit-and-run that injured a police officer last year.

According to police, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement on 208th Street on August 9, 2024, when he was hit by a car.

The 22-year-old driver fled the scene but was arrested soon after.

The officer was airlifted to the hospital with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say the officer is still in the process of recovering.

The man is now facing several charges including criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
