“Police believe that two individuals captured on video are persons of interest and are seeking to identify them,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, media relations officer, during a press conference on Tuesday.

“We are urging the public to review these images and contact police if they recognize the suspects,” said Sahak.

“The public plays a very important role, and sometimes even a small tip can be the final piece of the puzzle in a complex investigation,” he explained.

Police describe one alleged suspect as “Caucasian male with short, balding hair, a stocky build, wearing a black jacket, dark T-shirt, and blue jeans.”

The second alleged suspect is described as a “Caucasian male with a sliver build wearing a long blonde wig, black hoodie, and dark blue pants.”

Sahak says that investigators have reasons to believe that the explosive device was homemade.

“Evidence collected at the scene has been examined and assessed by the RCMP explosive disposal unit (EDU). Investigators can confirm the damage was consistent with a detonation of what is believed to be an unsophisticated homemade device, initiated burning fuse,” he explained.

Sahak adds that the alleged suspects could have used “commercially available fireworks” when building the explosive device.

Last month’s incident caused the BC NDP to close all constituency offices around the province.

“Early this morning an unknown person left an explosive device at one of our North Vancouver constituency offices, which detonated and caused damage to property but fortunately, no one was in the area and thus there were no injuries,” the email to NDP members said at the time.

Speaking to 1130 NewsRadio that morning, Ma would only say that it was a “police incident,” adding that she and office staff were physically fine, and the office was evacuated.
