“Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a heavily damaged Kawasaki motorcycle,” Sgt. Paul Walker said.

“Despite the efforts of first responders, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment,” Walker added.

Police believe alcohol and speed are contributing factors in the fatal crash.

Northbound Highway 11 remained closed between Clayburn Road and Harris Road, as police investigated the collision. The highway reopened to traffic around 9:15 a.m.

Anyone who saw the crash or who may have dashcam footage of the area early Thursday is being urged to contact the AbbyPD at 604-859-5225.
