3 people arrested after ‘serious incident’ in White Rock

The White Rock RCMP says it has taken three people into custody on Tuesday.

According to White Rock police spokesperson Chantal Sears, officers were called to an area close to Thrift Avenue and George Street in White Rock after 5:30 p.m.

A “serious incident is unfolding, officers are on scene and assessing,” she said in a statement to CityNews.

According to police, an Emergency Response Team (ERT) was deployed to the area.

A witness tells CityNews that she saw 20 police cars at the scene.

She also reports that she saw some officers carrying rifles and shields.

Police say no one was injured.

“The investigation is continuing,” Sears told CityNews.
