Gas line near Sea Island in Richmond repaired, says FortisBC

Sexsmith Road was closed in Richmond Saturday afternoon between Hazelbridge Way and Bridgeport Road while FortisBC crews repaired damage to a gas service line, the company says.
Repairs were complete shortly after 6 p.m., spokesperson David Wylie told 1130 NewsRadio.
The gas service line was damaged by an external party, but it isn’t clear what happened, Wylie says.
All roads in the area have reopened.
As well, Sea Island Way was closed between No. 3 Road and Garden City, but it is unclear if this is related to the damaged gas service line.
Callers to the station say there was backup in the area.
Wylie reminds the public to call 911 if they smell gas.
