“Upon arrival, officers located the scene in a house. The House is being contained by police, and multiple people have been detained at the scene,” Walker told CityNews.

A 41-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital in Vancouver with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

“Officers are still in the house, clearing the residence to ensure the safety of all occupants,” Walker added.

The AbbyPD says it believes it has arrested the suspect who fired the shots. The person remains in police custody.

“This home is a home that is known to the police,” Walker explained.

There is no further danger for the community.

“This is a targeted, isolated incident to the residents behind me. The neighborhood is not at risk,” Walker said.

The incident comes after another shooting in Abbotsford Monday morning.

A 68-year-old man died after a shooting near Ridgeview Drive and Summit Drive around 9:20 a.m.

The AbbyPD made clear that the two incidents are not related.

“It is also not connected to the shooting that happened earlier this morning up on the West side of town on Ridgeview,” Walker said to reporters.

George Ferguson Way remains closed for traffic in both directions as police continue their investigation in the area.

Police are asking witnesses to contact the police at 604-859-5225.
