Images from the scene show two vehicles, a black Buick and a white transporter van, that had their hoods and fenders damaged in the incident.

“One patient was treated at the scene and was transported to the hospital by helicopter,” Stepczuk said.

Later Monday night, the Langley RCMP described the patient’s injuries as “serious but non-life-threatening.”

Mounties say impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The intersection was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators worked, but reopened around 9:20 p.m.

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam video of the incident is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2026-7414.
