Saturday shooting in Port Moody leaves man hospitalized

A man is in hospital following a shooting in Port Moody on Saturday afternoon, according to police.
Port Moody Police say officers were called to the area of Union Street and Barnet Highway at approximately 2:40 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital and remains in stable condition.
Investigators say witnesses reported seeing a silver car leave the area following the shooting.
“Initial indications suggest this incident was targeted,” said Cst. Sam Zacharias.
“We are asking anyone with information or dash camera footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact us.”
Police say the investigation is in its early stages, and no further details have been released.
