MONTREAL (NEWS1130) – The first-degree murder trial of Luka Magnotta has heard details about a graphic video that emerged after Jun Lin went missing in 2012.

The Chinese student’s remains were mailed to different locations, including two schools in Vancouver.

Dong Dong Xu, a close friend of the Lin’s, testified he had been missing for several days in late May of 2012 and that his searches turned up nothing.

He said he was pressed into action after a phone call from Lin’s ex-lover who hadn’t heard from him in about two-and-a-half days.

On May 29th Xu saw people chatting online about a video entitled “1 Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick.”

Xu told the court that he identified Lin instantly.

Magnotta has pleaded not guilty to five charges in connection with the slaying and dismemberment of Lin, a Chinese engineering student, in May 2012.

The charges are first-degree murder; committing an indignity to a body; publishing obscene material; criminally harassing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other members of Parliament; and mailing obscene and indecent material.
