OTTAWA, On. — A double wammy traffic jam all weekend long at Ottawa’s new CE Centre where the Lululemon Warehouse Sale and the Home Renovations Sale are running all weekend long.
Uplands Drive, Hunt Club Road and the Airport Parkway are all seeing major delays thanks to the thousands of people bound for this south-end convention centre.
And the big draw is the deals at the warehouse sale with major markdowns bringing thousands willing to wait 6 or 7 hours for yoga pants and head-bands — among other items.
People are also drawn by the brand name, telling 1310News they want the yoga pants, the bags, the sweaters all with the now infamous symbol on them.
Lululemon Regional Manager Rhiannon Rollit said there are some sweet deals.
“I can’t really tell you the specifics but we’ve got a lot of stuff to surprise everybody,” she said, adding that while the lineups are long there are music, demonstrations to keep you occupied.
1310News asked Chantale, who had been waiting for 4 hours already, if the deals are worth all the time and effort.
“Yeah!” she said, adding she hoped to see everything at 50% off at the minimum.
As for what she was hoping to take away from the sale, she had a long list.
“Tank tops, bags, shirts, bras, pants, hoodies, zip-ups, head-bands. Lots of head-bands,” she said.
The sale continues all weekend long with the doors open from 9a.m.-7p.m. and the sale closing at 9p.m.
On Friday, people waited by the hundreds starting at 4a.m. and that could happen again Saturday.
