Trina Hunt’s parents issue statement of grief, gratitude as daughter remains missing

PORT MOODY (NEWS 1130) — It’s been nearly three months since Trina Hunt disappeared from her Port Moody home, and her parents have now shared a statement describing their grief and expressing their gratitude to everyone who has supported the search.

The 48-year-old was last seen around 6 a.m. on Jan. 18. Her husband reported her missing later that day when he returned home from work.

Police, search and rescue crews, and hundreds of volunteers scoured the area around her Heritage Woods home but found nothing.

On Friday, Hunt’s parents posted to a Facebook group dedicated to the effort to locate their daughter.

“Our hearts have been broken and we have been overwhelmed with grief since our daughter Trina has been missing,” they write.

“We are so blessed to have so much support and love from family, friends, neighbours, and numerous volunteers. Everyone just wants to find Trina.”

Hunt’s parents say they are trying to “stay focussed on all the wonderful family memories, and the special fun times.”

A GoFundMe launched in February has raised more than $20,000 to fund the continuation of the search with private crews.

Port Moody police have said the investigation remains active, and that foul play is not suspected.
