Vancouver police arrest man wanted Canada-wide

A week after a Canada-wide warrant was issued for a sex offender who left a local hospital when he was ordered not to, Vancouver police say he has been found and arrested.

Marcel Lawson was told by the courts to remain at an unnamed hospital while receiving medical treatment, under the terms of his long-term supervision order. He has a history of serious sexual offences and is at risk to re-offend, Vancouver police said March 17.

Police say he remains in custody.
