Homicide investigators have been called in after a shooting victim in Mission succumbed to his injuries.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says this incident is believed to be related to the ongoing B.C. gang conflict, though a motive has yet to be identified.
The RCMP first received calls about the sounds of shots being fired around 5 p.m. in the area of Laminman Avenue Monday.

When they arrived, IHIT says a 45-year-old man was found with life-threatening injuries.
The man was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries early Tuesday.
“We’re asking anyone with information about this incident to please contact IHIT immediately,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti.
Police have said a vehicle was found on fire a short distance from where the man was found, in the area of Doyle Street and Richards Avenue.
