Metro Vancouver water restrictions to scale back

Stage 2 watering restrictions across Metro Vancouver are set to scale back this weekend, after months of drought-like conditions across the region and most of B.C.

The water restrictions were ramped up on Aug. 4, as the regional district looked to stem the impact of the drought on its water supply.

Stage 2 has meant a total ban on lawn watering, a ban on filling or topping up aesthetic water features, such as pools and fountains, and restrictions around watering things like trees, shrubs, and flowers.

The move into Stage 2 restrictions was also made as water usage was up year-over-year, and reservoir levels were down.
