Vancouver woman accused of druggings and thefts facing similar charges in Alberta

A Vancouver escort accused of drugging and stealing from clients in B.C. has now been charged with similar offences in Alberta.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team says Jessica Kane faces charges including robbery and overcoming resistance by administering a drug.

The Surrey RCMP previously announced Kane had been charged with manslaughter and several other offences in October of 2022, as well as a second batch of charges related to druggings in Vancouver, Surrey, and Burnaby announced in February 2023.

She was first arrested in September of 2022, and police claimed at the time that she deliberately gave several of her escort clients a “stupefying drug” before robbing them. In one case, police said a man died in 2021 after being given the drug.

The latest allegations stem from Kane’s time working in Calgary’s sex trade last year while out on bail on her B.C. charges.

Kane is in custody after her bail was revoked and is due back in court next month on charges of breaching a release order.

The Crown dropped a manslaughter charge against Kane in B.C. in August.
