Fire crews in Vancouver were kept very busy fighting multiple fires Monday, with one fire that displaced six people near Shaughnessy Park.
The Vancouver Fire Rescue Services says a fire in a house was reported between Cypress Street and Arbutus Street on West 16 Avenue just before 5 p.m.
Assistant Fire Chief Jarret Gray tells CityNews that this fire spread to an additional home.
He says while the fire has been extinguished, from the two homes, six people have been displaced and crews are continuing to clean up on the scene.
Gray says there were no injuries reported.
The public is urged to avoid this area.

Earlier this evening Captain Matthew Trudeau with the VFRS said he didn’t know what the extent of the damage was.
“Crews are getting water on the fire right now, and I’m still waiting for updates about the extent of the damage,” he said.
At the time he said this was a developing fire and no injuries had been reported.
This comes after a fire earlier in the day, in a mixed-used building near Franklin and Woodland, which is now under control.
On average, Trudeau says fire crews typically respond to 15 calls per day that result in “significant” damage.
He says, that on Monday, about 27 incidents were reported.
