The Richmond RCMP is seeking witnesses to a collision between the driver of a dump truck and a pedestrian Monday morning.
Mounties were called to the scene of the collision on No. 2 Road near Steveston Highway around 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 4.
Witnesses told police the pedestrian was taking the crosswalk westbound when she was struck by the dump truck as the driver was turning northbound onto the highway.
“The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local area hospital where she remains,” Mounties said Thursday.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, but neither speed nor impairment are being considered as factors in the collision.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured dashcam footage from the time and area is asked to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2024-34972.
Pedestrians were struck by drivers in vehicles in two other incidents Monday morning as a storm rolled through the Lower Mainland.
The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service was deployed to Langley when a pedestrian was left with critical injuries after being struck along Fraser Highway at 264th Street just before 6:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, another pedestrian was struck and injured in Delta along 84 Avenue at 116 Street around 6:30 a.m.
