Woman dead after being hit by train in Maple Ridge

A woman has died after being hit by a train in Maple Ridge Sunday evening, the RCMP says.
Officers were called to the area of River Road near the Port Haney West Coast Express Train station shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday after reports of a train striking a pedestrian.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, Mounties say.
The CPKC Police Service has taken control of the investigation.
“The involved train moved from the area later Sunday evening,” the company told CityNews.
“This is all the information that I can provide.”
