Vancouver school teacher arrested on sex related charges

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A teacher at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School has been charged with sexual interference.

He was arrested back in September and that’s when the Vancouver School Board suspended him.

Police aren’t releasing many details, other than that the charge involves a 16-year-old student. Police say they received a complaint involving Jefferson and the student just before the school year started.

Constable Tammy Lyn-Walker with Richmond RCMP says it appears to be an isolated incident. “Police have no reason to believe that they are any other victims at this point, but we’re advising students and their parents that if they have any concerns to please contact police.”

Fifty-three-year-old Louis Jefferson also taught at Vancouver Tech Secondary School.
