RBC Presents: An Evening in Damascus returns in its ninth year!
Join us for a night that marries Syrian food, traditional dance and storytelling with ballroom dancers and drag performers. All while we raise funds for LGBTQ+ identifying refugees.
Since its humble beginning, An Evening in Damascus raised over $300,000. Your support had offered a safe passage to twenty-four queer and trans refugees to find a home in Canada.
This year, we want to do all of that again, and then some more!
Step into the magical hall at the Terminal City Club, and be transformed into a time of love and joy in Damascus. Enjoy an open buffet made by the women of Tayybeh: A Celebration of Syrian cuisine, and cheer for the belly-dancers, the drag Queens and the Oud players. Looking for a ball? The ballroom scene joins us with performers from Van Vouge Jam. Listen to meaningful stories on immigration, refugees and settlement. Together, we will make this place a home for you, and for all of us.
Your ticket comes with two complementary drinks.
