Five arrested in drug ring linked to gangs in Metro Van

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – Mounties have taken down a drug ring that involved cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and magic mushrooms.

The group was based in Terrace, but is apparently part of a much larger criminal organization stretching into Lower Mainland. Police are not naming any gang or gangs the group might be a part of.

Inspector Dana Hart suggests they have connections across much of the province. “As far as the organization at this point, I’m not at liberty to discuss that. But it does reach into the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland.”

Five people have been arrested in Terrace. Only one man, Dave Edwardson, has been charged so far; he remains in custody. One hundred and ten rifles and shotguns have been seized and three grow-ops were taken down; police also hauled away 1.5 kilograms of cocaine and an assortment of other narcotics.

“This group is belived to play a very primary role in the drug trade in the Terrace area, and combined as well, as you can see with the firearms, the violence that has been associated to this group in the past. This is definitely going to have an impact,” adds Hart.

The investigation began 14 months ago and police expect more arrests and charges in the case.
