Two tow trucks destroyed in suspected North Vancouver arson

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Eight vehicles, including two tow trucks, were set on fire in what’s believed to be an overnight arson at a towing company on the North Shore.

No one was hurt when the vehicles at Mitchell’s Towing on Welch Street were set ablaze some time overnight Thursday, but two tow trucks belonging to the business were destroyed. The other six vehicles were damaged.

“We’re investigating it as an arson,” North Vancouver RCMP Sgt. Peter DeVries said.

“Finding out a motive would be part of the investigation that’s ongoing and active. And until we have more information and get further with the investigation, we won’t know what the motive if any was.”

He added the business operators are co-operating with RCMP.

The cost of damage isn’t known yet, and, so far, no arrests have been made.
