The flooding in recent weeks is set to cost ICBC a massive amount of cash but it doesn’t have an exact tally just yet.
The public insurer says people have filed nearly 1,500 claims in connection to this run of extreme weather. But it’s not speculating on claim costs at this point.
ICBC says it has set up a special team to deal with claims related to these storms.
Additionally, the company says claims related to this weather will receive priority.
As of Monday, ICBC said many claim centres and driver licensing offices in the province will also be collecting non-perishable food items and essential goods for United Way BC’s Flood Response Team.
Donations will only be accepted during business hours so check in advance for hours at a location closest to you.
