Pfizer is recalling a widely-prescribed drug to treat high blood pressure.
The company says several lots of Accuretic are being recalled, due to a potentially cancer-causing impurity.
The lots were found to have levels of a nitrosamine, N-nitroso-quinapril, that are above the daily intake level.

Pfizer says the products have undergone a “robust clinical program” and it’s “not aware of reports of adverse events that have been assessed to be related to this recall.”
It adds there is “no immediate risk” to people who are taking this medications, though Pfizer recommends patients talk to their doctor about switching treatments.
Pfizer is also recalling certain lots of generic versions of the drug.
