5 Chilliwack fires set overnight: officials

Five separate fires within blocks of each other in Chilliwack have officials concerned.

The fires were set between Monday night and early Tuesday morning. They were along Spadina Avenue, Young Road, Nowell Street, Willow Drive, and Norrish Avenue.

While the Chilliwack Fire Department says they were minor, the fires appear to have been set on purpose.

Firefighters were able to put the flames out quickly, though crews note things could have ended much worse.

These fires are still under investigation. If you have any information about these fires, the department asks you to call the RCMP at 604-792-4611 or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
