Surrey crash leaves one dead, one in custody: RCMP

An early morning crash in Surrey on Sunday has left one woman dead and a man in custody, according to RCMP.
“On September 18, 2022, at about 1:05 am, Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a traffic incident in which a female was struck,” said Staff Sgt. R Monsef, in a news release.
The crash happened on 108 Avenue between 133 Street and University Drive and police say the driver has been taken into custody.
Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team is being helped with the investigation by Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.
The stretch of 108 Avenue will be closed for an “undetermined amount of time”, according to Mounties.
In the meantime members of the public are being asked to stay away from the area.
