Vancouver’s Olympic cauldron vandalized over weekend

One of the most popular symbols of Vancouver’s 2010 Olympics is now in need of some swift repairs.
The Olympic cauldron located in downtown Vancouver at Jack Poole Plaza was partially smashed early Saturday morning.

According to Vancouver Police Department, two unidentified people smashed one of the frosted glass columns around 4:30 a.m.
Early estimates show repairs could run in the range of $10,000.
Police say no arrests have been made in connection with the vandalization and are actively investigating.
