Police arrest Coquitlam arson suspect: RCMP

Coquitlam RCMP say they have arrested the 57-year-old suspect from the Oct 7. arson incident.
Early Friday morning, a home was “deliberately” set on fire in a residential neighbourhood with two female victims inside the home. Both managed to escape and were taken to hospital, one victim suffered “serious injuries,” according to police.
Police became aware of the suspect’s location thanks to a tip from the public, outlined in a statement. Previously adding they did believe the suspect and victims knew each other.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance in helping locate this suspect,” said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins.
“This was a disturbing and potentially fatal incident that occurred in our community, and we are thankful to all who assisted in ensuring the suspect was arrested.”

Mounties say the suspect was arrested “without incident.”
In their Sunday statement, police did not name the suspect. The name previously provided as the potential suspect was Jin Ming Han.
