A local pool is bookending it’s 60 years in Burnaby with a “Last Splash” event before closing for good.
C.G Brown Memorial Pool invited locals to “Go back in time to 1962,” — the year that the pool first opened.
On Sunday, the pool hosted a loonie swim, where locals could swim for an admission fee of $1.
In addition to the inexpensive entry, the event included mermaids, dinosaurs, games, prizes, and a barbeque.
Join us for an afternoon of fun as we say farewell to C.G. Brown Pool on Sunday, Oct 23.

The facility, along with the Burnaby Lake Arena, will be rebuilt at the site as the new Burnaby Lake Aquatic and Arena Facility.
The City of Burnaby says the new facility will have three pools, matching the size of an Olympic size pool.
Other amenities of the new facilities will include an NHL-sized arena pad where locals can play and cheer on their teams in the stands, along with multipurpose rooms, public art, and cafes.
For those who didn’t make it to Sunday’s event, the pool is offering $1 admissions until it’s final closure on Oct. 31.
